Silverwood's Read to Ride Program

UPDATE 3/11/2025: We did not qualify in this year's lottery for the Read to Ride Program. No logs or tickets will be passed out.

At the beginning of each calendar year, between January and March, Silverwood's reading logs will be shared. They must be returned to their classroom teacher or Mrs. Hill by end of March. Students must have the log filled out with 10 hours of reading, signed by an adult. Tickets will be sent out before the end of the school year. For more information, view their Read2Ride Guide here.

Lost or Overdue Books

Lost books can be returned by purchasing a new or gently used copy and donating it to the library. We prefer hardcover versions because of their durability.

Please communicate with the librarian by note, email, in person, or phone call when donating new copies.

Collage of children's literature that have positively influenced Mrs. Hill

Children's and young adult literature I have read that positively influenced me or hold special meaning from classroom experiences.

About Mrs. Hill

In 2021 I moved from Iowa to live and teach in the Flathead Valley with my husband Brandon and our cat Ophelia. I attended the University of Northern Iowa. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in literacy. I taught 5th grade for 3 years, 3rd grade for 2 years, and am in my second year as School Librarian.

I enjoy disc golfing (a.k.a. frolf), skiing, hiking, camping, board games, music and theater, reading and writing, poetry, water color painting, anthropology, biology, and trying new things. My favorite presents to receive at school are gift cards to coffee spots or bookstores, food, flowers, tea, and especially handwritten letters and drawings.

My most important goal is to instill an appreciation for literature and empower students to investigate their interests and curiosities independently. I believe books are a powerful tool in building human connection, emotional regulation, and learning experiences.

I am committed to creating a safe and positive environment where your child is valued, trusted, and provided access to information and perspectives through quality storytelling or research. It is my hope that you will support this vision from home.
